During pregnancy, chiropractic plays an important role in the prenatal care. Unluckily, too little number of women knows about the advantages of chiropractic care that how much it is helpful for both newly born babies and themselves. There are a lot of changes that take place in a woman’s body during the pregnancy. Chiropractic care helps the pregnant women to handle or align her body changes and also assists to keep the function of nervous and musculoskeletal systems on their best levels.
A lot of pregnant women have a low hip pain, back pain, and symphysis pubic. These upsets are due to the stresses, nervous tensions and anxiety that are put on the body by the growth of the newborn. The body changes must go in a proper manner to accommodate these adjustments. When the pregnant women’s belly gets larger or bigger; it means that the gravity changes are undergone in the woman’s center. If a woman has felt a low pelvis and back pain before her pregnancy, it means that it is very harder for her back and pelvis to adjust during her pregnancy. If the pelvis is out of kilter, it has an effect on the growing baby’s position and the uterus.

The benefit of Chiropractor’s help is to adjust the misalignment in the pelvis to help out in order to get the baby in the better position, and to equilibrium the uterus. For a pregnant woman chiropractic adjustments are gentle, safe, and specific. In the Webster Technique, some Chiropractors are specialized to alleviate intrauterine restraint by using this technique effectively. Webster specialized Chiropractors amend the pelvis and relieve the pressure on ligaments.
An aligned pelvis helps to maintain a comfort level of a pregnant woman so that she can birth a child in an easy, quick and safe way. A lot of people do not remember that a c-section is very risky and major abdominal surgery, and Chiropractic care balances the ligaments and pelvis to help the baby in taking right position so that delivery can be easy and normal.

Although Chiropractic care can be extremely effective in relieving acute back pain, there are times when a patient symptoms may cause additional concern or where their symptoms may be better treated by a doctor of medicine such as an Orthopedist. An Orthopedist is a physician who specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the bones, joints and tendons.

Symptoms of back pain that may cause extra concern include (but are not limited to); where the pain wakes a sleeping sufferer, where the pain causes the sufferer to have chills or hot sweats, where the sufferer has a tingling sensation around their genitals and where the pain or the cause of the pain causes the sufferer to have a lack of control over their bladder or bowel functions.

Sufferers of back pain that have additional symptoms such as; the legs becoming weaker, a tingling sensation or numbness in the legs or any other kind of back pain that causes pain in the hips or legs, any sufferer that has symptoms of spinal cord compression or should be refered to an Orthopedist. Chiropractic Manipulation treatment in particular would hinder the treatment of such conditions, in some very rare cases Chiropractic care of patients that have serious spinal tumors or spinal disease could cause devastating nerve injuries.

An orthopedist undergoes between thirteen and fourteen years of training, including their residancy, they also have to undergo continuing medical education course throughout their career so that they can keep up to date with they new technologies and medical treatment possiblilties for their patients. Orthopedists do not only specialise in back pain reated medical issues. There are many sub categories that an Orthopedist may choose for example they may choose to specialise in sports injuries of hand surgery. Sufferers of severe back pain should always consult a general practitioner (GP) in order to seek advise about the best proffessional to help them with relieveing their back pain. In most cases for those suffering with mild pain, who do not show symptoms of more severe issues a chiropractor will be the person to see. However if the back related symtoms show a link to further complications it is likely that the patient will be refered to an Orthopedist Physician.

Chiropractors specialise in working with the spine and helping people with back pain. They do this through making adjustments to the nervous system. It is usual that a person will consult a Chiropractor before resorting to drugs or surgery as a cure for their back pain.

Chiropractors make these adjustments to the nervous system by manipulating the spine in order to free the nerves that are causing the pain. The word chiropractor comes from the Greek ‘to perform with their hands’ and this is exactly what the chiropractor does, they use their hands to massage or move the joints in the body in order to relieve pain.

It is important that a doctor of medicine is consulted regarding severe acute back pain or chronic back pain, as the chiropractor is a doctor of chiropractic care rather than of medicine. However it is likely that a general practitioner (GP) will refer a person with more than mild back pain to a chiropractor as it is their specialist area. A qualified chiropractor should be registered with the General Chiropractic Council before practicing chiropractic care upon any patient.

Before a chiropractor begins any treatment they should; look into the patient’s history, perform an examination (usually by examining the heart, lungs and taking the patients blood pressure) and it is possible that in some cases an X-ray examination will take place. Once the examination has been carried out the chiropractor will choose the best course of treatment for that particular patient.

The two main chiropractic treatments are manipulation treatment and soft tissue treatment. Manipulation treatment is where the chiropractor moves the joints further than a person can do by themselves relieving the patient of pain by normalising the functions of the joints and muscles. This technique should not be used on patients that have a history of joint instability, severe neck injuries or have spinal diseases. Soft tissue treatment is where the chiropractor uses their hands to massage and stretch the tissue in the back. A chiropractor will also be able to advise their patients on how to look after their body at home. They may advise the patient; to undergo certain exercises, to avoid certain kinds of everyday physical activity that may be causing their back pain and offer recommendations of back supports or aids that may be useful in preventing the pain.

Neuropathic back pain, also known as ‘neuralgia’ is a form of chronic back pain. As with chronic pain symptoms include; a continuous numbness in the lower back area, a sharp or stabbing pain, a deep burning or coldness in the effected area and may cause pain in the arms and or legs as well as the back. However other symptoms include; being hypersensitive to touch, a loss of bowel or bladder control and coordination difficulties. Neuropathy is any type of pain that is caused by a compression of the nerves. In some cases Neuropathic back pain results from damage to the central nervous system and can be caused by, phantom limb pain, diabetes, tumours or regional pain syndrome (RPS).

As with chronic back pain Neuropathic pain causes the sufferer to have a limited daily life, for example they may be unable to perform their job or even get to their job and it may limit their social life or activities. This can lead to the patient feeling worse and worse, causing; sleeplessness, stress and depression. Therefore it is extremely important that sufferers consult their general practitioner in order to be refered to a specialist Orthopedic Pysician.

As neuropathic back pain is a symptom of another medical condition it is often difficult for a GP to diagnose, therefore it may be necassery for the doctor to carry out an electromyography. An electromyography measures the electrical discharges from the muscle and nerves in order to establish how quickly signals are being carried from the muscles to the brain.

If the neorpathic pain is relatively mild it may be possible that the pain can be treated with prescription pain killers and over the counter medicines. However these should only be used as short term measure in order to avoid long term risks of the medication itself. Treatment may also come in the form of medication that is classed as anti-seizure medicine as this kind of medication works by blocking off the pain signals to the brain. Some anti-depressant medication also works by blocking off pain signals and so this can also be precribed as a treatment for neuropathic back pain.

Many believe that chiropractic care is for those people involved in accidents, sport injuries and muscle strains. The truth is that chiropractic care can also cure and relieve back pains. Here are some health benefits of chiropractic care.

Chiropractic care can relieve pain. The chiropractic first takes the medical history of the client then performs a physical examination and may use lab test so as to diagnose the correct treatment that is appropriate for your back pain. Spinal manipulation is used to rescue mobility to joints restricted by tissue injuries caused by a traumatic event such as accident or bad posture sitting without proper support.

Chiropractic mobilization is also used to relieve back pains. Chiropractic mobilization refers to the physical changes made to soft tissue or joints in the body. It is a hand on therapy that is very precise and gradual, allowing the chiropractor to gently articulate the joint within its designed area. It is important to note that chiropractic manipulation is quicker and vigor is exerted on the joints or tissue whereas chiropractic mobilization is more slow adjustment to reduce tension. Chiropractic mobilization is commonly known to ease and cure variety of dysfunctions such as traumatic injuries, sports related injury, poor posture, spine problems and many more.

The qualifications that are Must Have for a Chiropractor

First of all, you need to make sure that your Chiropractor has graduated from a school that is Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) accredited. CCE (www.cce-usa.org) is national body that certifies chiropractic schools in US. Also, ensure that the Chiropractic Doctor you have chosen is licensed in the state you live in. You can also contact the state board of chiropractic examiners to see if any sanctions have been placed on your doctor for state law violations.

Selecting of a correct chiropractor

The best way is often the recommendation of a friend or relative who has good experiences with a physician. Referred by another health professional is also normally useful. As you would not continue to see a doctor who refused to pass you on to a Chiropractor, you should also avoid choosing a Chiropractor who does not refer you to an MD where needed. An experienced and good chiropractic doctor might be capable of offering you more secure and more efficient non-surgical or non-medical solutions to your problems.

The advantages of Chiropractic Care

Musculoskeletal system maintenance in an appropriate way is essential for your health, and it is a proven fact. The joint pain normally due to the diminution of normal joint motion becomes reason of a series of musculoskeletal issues. A majority of chiropractors work with these troubles with exercise, spinal manipulation and other active treatments. Good Chiropractic doctors will explain how to keep up with good health through good posture, exercises, lifting methods and healthy diet.

The length of Chiropractic care/treatment

Any health care provider who is good in his profession will do their best to help you to function independently as rapidly as possible. In the hands of an experienced and skilled Chiropractor, joint manipulation is a noninvasive and useful technique/procedure. This has frequently been used by Chiropractic health professionals to decrease back pain and assist patients in functioning better in their routine life.

You must choose a Chiropractor who you feel more comfortable with, and who utilizes secure and useful methods to help you treat your Chiropractic issues.

Back pain in pregnant women is getting more common than in previous decades. This is due to lack of exercise and healthy food in many under developed countries. Women with such pain often avoid medicine, which in result worsens the pain effecting mother and her baby. According to a research; almost 56% of pregnant women suffer from this kind of pain, whereas; some women reported that their pain increased to 48% by the end of 24th week but decreased to 9.4% after their delivery.

After conducting a lot of researches; many doctors and specialists concluded that by going through a Chiropractic treatment, a pregnant woman will feel much better than any other treatment. So, what did doctors find helpful in this treatment? Well, in a Chiropractic treatment; doctors use natural ways of treating their patients; they carefully manage soft tissues, especially those which result in abnormalities during or after pregnancy. Furthermore, this treatment is used to relieve pain of back, neck, pelvis and extremities. Since pain might be muscular or joints related, this treatment is highly effective for pregnant women.

A chiropractic treatment also includes some physical exercises that will help relax the body and its muscles. With some exercise, a pregnant woman’s body gets use to daily hard work and stretches. Exercising everyday not only makes her body stronger but also helps a successful delivery.

In some types of back pains during pregnancy, many soft tissues are damaged, which generates more pain in woman’s body. To counter this problem, doctors or health professionals massage the area where the pain is and try to locate exact point before it is too late to handle or repair the tissue.

In order to stay away from these pains, it advised to follow some proper postures during pregnancy:

1.	While walking, make sure you chin and head is up like a strong woman.
2.	Even if you are sitting; position your shoulder slightly backwards, this will help your back to maintain a straight position.
3.	If you have to stand for a long time then remove some weight of your back by keeping your knees slightly bend or more like a reduced tension position on your body.

Chronic back pain can be described as a pain that causes a dull ache or deep burning pain that occurs in the lower back, somethines travelling down the leg and is usually classed as a pain that lasts over between three and six months. Ichronic back pain often makes normal daily activity very difficult or impossible to carry out.

One type of chronic back pain is a pain that is caused by and identifiable source, for example an accident has caused an injury or the spine of back muscles. This type of pain may be caused by spine conditions such as spinal stenosis or degenerative disc disease. The pain is caused by a diagnosable condition and the pain will continue until successfully treated. Once other treatments have been tried, if the pain has not been succesfully treated through medication after a number of months surgery may be considered as a treatment.

A second type of chronic back pain is one that has not got an identifiable source, the pain itself is the illness rather than being a symptom of another illness. This kind of pain may also be reffered to as ‘chronic benign pain’. This kind of pain is caused by the nervous system sending pain signals where there is no physical damge to the tissue or muscle.

Chronic pain that is not directly caused by an identifiable source, such as tissue damage or structural spine problems may be examplified by people that sufer from chronic back pain after a successful surgery has been performed on the initial source of pain, yet the patient continues to suffer from the pain after the determined cause of the pain has been healed.

Because the source of the pain is unidentifiable it is much harder to understand chronic pain than it is acute back pain, which usually has a clear and definable cause. It is harder to understand because chronic pain can be a response to the way a persons brain responds, for example the pain may have originally been acute pain that has successfully been treated however the person still percieves the pain or it may be caused by depression or anxiety.

Acute low back pain may be felt due to areas such as; testicles, ovaries or groin as well as the nerves or muscles around the spine. This kind of back pain usually feels like a stabbing or shooting pain and can cause stiffness. Acute low back pain usually lasts between four and six weeks apposed to Chronic back pain.

The main cause of acute lower back pain is through injury. The most common reason for the pain is due to tears or strains in the muscles or ligaments in the back. However medical issues that can cause low back pain include, but are not limited to; ruptured disks, compression fractures to the spine, muscle spasms and inherited medical illnesses that cause the spine to curve (Spinal Stenosis) can also lead to acute back pain.

Low back pain is not limited to the back, it may also effect the legs, feet and hip. This kind of pain varies very widely, it may feel like a dull ache or a very sharp pain. The pain may cause stiffness limiting a persons movement or even cause them to be unable to move.

The treatment of low back pain will vary depending upon the person and the kind of pain that they have. In most cases it will be possible to treat the pain with; a cold press or ice, mild painkillers that are usually sold over the pharmacy counter, a reasonable excericse routine (that has been okay’d by a doctor) or physio therapy.

It is often possible to help to releive mild or acute back pain through simple measures that you can take yourself at home, these include; limiting the amount of ever day exercise or physical movement that is undertaken, Add cold presses or Ice to the pain at first after a couple of days move on to using heat presses, try not to sleep flat on your back (either curl up or prop up your legs). After the first couple of weeks it is important that light physical activity is taken up, this may should include light exercise such walking or swimming.

In the last few years, there has been a lot of interest in chiropractic care, so much that many chiro-centers have more patients than they can manage. A lot of factors play a role in the sudden growth in need for chiropractic treatment; stress, persistent lifestyle and deficiency of appropriate healthcare have resulted in issues that can’t be treated without lot of investment.

One of the major reasons for chiropractic care becoming well-liked is due to the natural methods implemented for correcting health problems. For example, there are a huge number of kids who suffer from back pain as they carry heavy bags to schools and colleges. Some of the adults too face this problem. Surgical treatment for children is not recommended as there can be many side effects. This prompts the parents to take their child to a chiropractor as they conduct extensive examination to get to root of the cause and treat accordingly without any incisions or side effects.

As chiropractic care does not involve medications or surgeries and is completely natural, it is being accepted more by people. There have been debates if they have been effective or not but recent studies say that chiropractic care does have healthy effects without any side effects. Chiropractic care doesn’t cost a fortune; this is another reason for people trying out this method of treatment.

In order to stay healthy and active, a lot of people have started to visit a chiropractor regularly. If you’re going for the first time or you have severe back problems, two visits a week is mandatory. The visits will get reduced to once a week or once a month depending on the improvement in your health. The chiropractor will tell you after each visit on your condition and the frequency of your future visits.

Additionally, chiropractors usually provide patients with a stretching and exercise routine and it is essential to take out time and perform them as it will make the treatment faster and more importantly make its effect stay longer. It also helps in improving posture, thus preventing further problems. The exercises also help to relieve back pain.
